DICK’S House of Sport in Minnetonka, MN officially opened this week and my family and I had the chance to check it out yesterday! Believe me when I tell you there’s something there for everyone. My toddlers went crazy over the in-store experiences. My husband was obsessed with the virtual golf shot analysis. And I had myself an athleisure runway show in the woman’s clothing section.
A few things at DICK’S House of Sport, which is the third location in the entire country, that caught our eyes right off the bat (pun intended)…
Exciting in-store experiences
My three-year-old son, Kai, lit up when he saw the batting cage and putting greens. He could have spent all day there had we not pulled him away. My husband took a liking to the virtual golf simulators that allow you to assess and perfect your golf swing. There’s an indoor rock climbing wall. A jumbotron is located at the entrance that broadcasts local/national games and events. There’s also a health & wellness bar where you can pick the brain of a local wellness expert or stock up on protein powders, juices, or even take a yoga class.
The latest athleisure fashion (my favorite part of the whole experience)
Obviously, the clothing section was the first place I checked out. DICK’S House of Sport is home to brands like Calia, Nike, Patagonia, Columbia, even Free People Movement, and more! I rounded up a few of my favorite pieces to start out my athleisure wardrobe. And honestly, I’m not sure why it took me this long to even start one.
Support for local businesses
There were so many different local businesses being displayed throughout the store. They displayed hockey helmets designed by Minnesotan artists, products from local stores such as Honour Coffee & Juice, and a calendar full of local community events.
Basically, DICK’S House of Sport is a one-stop shop for everything you need when it comes to sports, athleisure, or outdoor needs. With a heavy emphasis on the community, local businesses, and providing stellar experiences for everyone that walks through the doors its no wonder we loved it there! And we definitely can’t wait to go back.
